So this week was insane and jam packed.
Last Tuesday night for Devotional, you won't believe who we had come and speak with us!! I guess I'll tell you! ELDER DAVID A. BEDNAR AND SISTER SUSAN BEDNAR!!!!!
I think I scared my district because I absolutely love listening to Elder Bednar speak.
When Sister Bednar spoke some of the things that stuck out to me were: Come to know who you truly are; return with honor: represent yourself, your family, the church, and the Lord Jesus Christ by wearing this name tag each day and teaching his gospel unto all people; she asked us to look for places where people in the Book of Mormon are strengthened by the Lord; and make sure we say a prayer of gratitude each day to thank our father in heaven for all that he does for us.
I could go on and on about what Elder Bednar said but I'll do my best to keep it brief: ask to know then do as he has commanded; he went on to talk about what will happen with the first presidency now that President Thomas Spencer Monson has indeed passed away. He explained how the next President of the church will come to be. He continued to discuss the power of the priesthood and how the priesthood is the power to do as he would do and say what he would say. Priesthood keys is channel for revelation. He used this analogy about an umbrella and he said: "The man will hold the Umbrella but the woman may be under the umbrella and be safe from the rain." Even though men hold the priesthood, women still take advantage of the benefits and we have the power to get blessings and perform certain ordinances. the joke he made is that every man needs a woman and that without Susan (his wife) he most definitely wouldn't be with us that day or even the amazing apostles that we know and love, they most definitely need their wives to be who they are fully. I absolutely love that.
We got 11 new missionaries but we had one go home on Friday evening. :'( The 4 new sisters are Sister Molisi and I's roomies!!
We got to go to the temple twice this week. The first time was with Brother Hall (one of the counselors for my branch presidency) and we got some awesome pictures. We only went to feel the spirit and so he could talk to us 5 missionaries some more. Today Sister Molisi and I went to the temple with our roomies.
Yesterday morning Elder Wooden left for his mission since he is going to Houston Texas East and we're going Houston Texas. We already miss our elders and sisters in the Charleston West Virginia Mission, but they emailed us and they are doing amazing in the field already!!!
This is my last update from the MTC and I've loved my time here and I've learned so much.
Next Stop: HOUSTON TEXAS Y'ALL!!!!
Smooches!!!!!!
